The World Geothermal Congress (WGC) is a premier global event for the sharing of knowledge and innovations in the geothermal industry. The 2023 WGC will be held in Beijing, China, from September 2-11, and will feature short courses, a technical program, and field trips. The event is organized in collaboration with the National Geothermal Energy Center of China (CNGEC) and the convention center in Beijing. Registration is now open, and exhibition and sponsor packages are available on the WGC website.
Four pillars of IGA
The International Geothermal Association (IGA), is the leading global platform for geothermal energy, promoting and supporting global geothermal development. With its four pillars of Visibility, Sustainability, Partnerships, and Authority, the IGA aims to push geothermal as a gamechanger for achieving Sustainable Development Goal #7, providing affordable, clean, baseload energy for all.
Goals of the CNGEC
The National Geothermal Energy Center of China (CNGEC) aims to promote technological progress and industrial development of geothermal energy in China. It cooperates with research institutes such as Sinopec Exploration Institute and the Academy of Engineering, and shares resources and collaborates with domestic and foreign scientific research institutes and universities to carry out research and development of core geothermal technologies and cooperation in major projects.

The lifting of all COVID policies for the WGC2023 means that the event will be on-site only, and the organizers look forward to welcoming the global geothermal community to Beijing in September for what promises to be an inspiring event.
